Helen Lear - New Zealand soprano studying at the Royal College of Music

Helen Lear is a New Zealand soprano in her final year of vocal training at the Royal College of Music, London, studying with Professor Kathleen Livingstone.

Helen previously studied performance music at Victoria University, Wellington, (now the New Zealand School of Music) with Emily Mair ONZM, graduating in 2005 with a Bachelor of Music degree with first class honours.

In 2001 she was one of the NBR New Zealand Opera Dame Malvina Major Emerging Artists. This is a highly selective programme designed to develop the skills required for a professional opera career.

Helen is available on her email and this website is updated regularly concerning her London study.

"Helen is one of the most talented New Zealand singers to come our way"

Professor Neil Mackie CBE, Head of Vocal Department,
